Don't Quit Architecture. Quit Your Job?
Most architects occasionally wonder whether they should give up on their profession. You are probably reading this post for this purpose, too.
Let me tell you a story first before we move on. After finishing my education, I was unsure of my next steps. This was likely a result of my desire to not practice engineering like the majority of others. So, since architecture seemed like a straightforward career option, I presented the paper on it. Perhaps I had it in my head that the entire process would be pretty simple. And after I passed the entrance exam for a prestigious college, my thoughts began to move more quickly. What transpired, then? Even though I was successful in getting placements with the top architect firm in Delhi, I was never completely at peace. "Am I where I should be?" and "Is this the profession I was born for?"
I assure you that this is not the tale of a lone being; rather, it is a typical occurrence today, and this is where the drama really begins. Even though most people have excellent degrees in architecture and skill sets, we must first identify the factors that lead them to consider leaving their positions. Now let's talk.
1. Perhaps your choice to study architecture was a mistake!
As was already indicated, the majority of people consider architecture as a career choice because they are wary of the conventional engineering path. If you're doing the same, it's time to be upfront from the very beginning of your profession.
Be honest about your abilities and the direction you wish to take your life. My opinion is that the dilemma tree wouldn't be supposed to sprout if the roots were initially removed.
2. It's possible that your income is underwhelming!
Since everyone strives to earn a sufficient wage, the answer to the previous question is evident if it doesn't. Do you need to make more money to be successful? What additional income is possible and how may it be obtained?
If you own an architectural firm, you should first assess your ability to generate at least that much of your initial investment, as well as your ability to satisfy customers.
3. Do you have high expectations before the event?
And agree, this is the most logical conclusion. We start to demand more of our companies before it's appropriate. How could anything be so successful in the beginning? You switch between projects in an effort to continually improve while leaving the previous unfinished. And disappointment would result if the following one didn't yield for you. Just be decisive in your choices, dear friend!
4. A company might not require your resume.
Although we think of ourselves as always being ideal, this may not always be the case. It could be a factor if your employer has different requirements than those listed in the resume or if they decide not to hire the applicants.
These are a few of the elements that could seriously affect your choices, but leaving your career is never the answer. What could be done to prevent this, then?
• Strengthen your application because it is one of the most common causes of rejection. These three elements must be present in your application.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to architecture portfolios for possible jobs, but in general, you should have at least two portfolios.
• Make sure your application is specific and pertinent.
Please share the possibilities that you actually possess. Avoid acting too cocky since you will undoubtedly be caught in the interview doing so. For instance, if you have experience producing pottery, avoid buying gold idols.
It could take you in the wrong direction and make you regret your choices even more.
• Adapt your experience to the needs of the business.
In other words, how do your training, professional background, skill set, and qualifications fit with both the position they are looking to fill and the company's culture?
• Don't just give up; concentrate on improving your talents.
Putting your attention on your talents is the only thing that can save you from quitting your architecture work. Enhance the one you currently have while also attempting to apply the new ideas.
